Fairground

Come join me in this fairground we call life
Popcorn and candyfloss for brains
Pick up a loaded gun and earn yourself a teddy bear
Floating ducks with hooked heads in stale water bob, bob bobbing around

Have yourself thrown about on the carousel till your sick
You are a fairground attraction lit up like a summer night in June
Showing off your skin to the Carny’s while paying with your soul
Strike the hammer off the plate to ring the bell, does it toll for you

Taken to the bone yard so they can have their fun
You are their “Mark” spotted the minute you entered the grounds
Check the kitty then take you for a ride in the haunted house, scare you silly
Visit the Sugar Shack and suck on a toffee apple till teeth spill from your mouth

Flashing lights, cheesy disco tunes fight with your senses
Shoes stuck in mud while it slurps at your heels, ketchup down your blouse
Tattooed hairy arms grab at you pulling you to that dark place between caravans
Grass stains to add to your already ample collection of this life

Come join me in this fairground we call life.. You will have a blast I promise you..
