Clockwork Princess

There once was a Princess
  By the name of Amari.
Where her heart should of been,
    Behind
    Metal
    Ribs,
A clock beats to the time.
    Gears move inside
       Instead
    Of normal human flesh.
Wires
    Replace veins
    And
         Electricity replaces blood.
She is the Clockwork Princess
  Who runs only on time.
If the clock stops ticking,
  She does too.

Some may say she was
    P e r f e c t
 As their Princess.
Others called her
An unwanted thing in the place they call home,
     A
       Monster
              From
                   Deep,
                        Down,
                             Below
                                   Their very own feet.
They became
    Insurgent,
They just didn't agree with
    Their Princess Amari.

They raided her tower,
Snatched her sleeping body from her bed.
They tied her hands together,
  Chained her down.
They caged her up in a prison carriage.
  She
      O p e n e d
                  Her eyes
And
  D
  r
  o
  p
  s
Of oily tears leaked from her eyes
As they took her from home.

They built an altar
    With
         piles
Of firewood awaiting to be burned.
  They chain her down,
          forcing
                     Her to sit.
The people lit their torches
    And
        Throw
Them onto poor Amari.
She just smiled,
    Fake skin melting away
       S l o w l y
Revealing her
         Metal skeleton
                        Underneath.
Smiling,
       Raising one metal hand.
She always loved her people...

There once was a Princess
  By the name of Amari.
Where her heart should of been,
    Behind
    Metal
    Ribs,
A clock beats to the time,
    Gears move inside
        Instead
    Of normal human flesh.
Wires
     Replace veins
     And
         Electricity replaces blood.
She was the Clockwork Princess
Who ran on only little time.
If the clock stops ticking,
      She does too.
         And,
             It finally did.
