The Mind Wants What the Heart Knows

The mind wants what the heart knows
Seeking impatiently, brazenly lusting
Impatience beckons those entrusting
Hope to fate and life to death

Every single moment, a single breath
Eternity does it look, on tarnished throne of king
The knowledge of heart, the language of Poe
Loneliness, fulfillment in death, hollow does it ring
Understanding the heart is knowing chaos

Whirlwind of emotion, gusting with loss
The tragic feeling of sorrow, the sirens sing
Cold and cutting, ocean wind blows
Lies of the mind, perpetuating untruths, mimicking
In chaos, certainty is betrayal

It is the knowledge of the heart, hearty yet frail
The mind does desire, as hummingbird does suckling
Forever has it sought, in the highs, in the lows
Yet evermore shall it seek of the heart, ever entrancing
The mind wants what the heart knows
