Past Reference
The past consumes us all
We forget to look ahead
Yet our history seems so small
When we're compared to the dead
Yes, our history molds our mental state
And yes, it makes us who we are
But it does not choose our fate
And will not drop us very far
If you close your eyes and think
"Tomorrow is a brand new day,"
Your history's importance will shrink
Because your future is no longer far away

I like this good job :)
a few errors in the last line( i hate pointing that stuff out because i make mistakes all the time and I mean all the time) but...I love the idea here it is well written

Indeed, our past does affect us yet does not/should not define us.
In the same vein, many throw life away awaiting some future possibility. NOW is when we live and it is amazing if we let go the crap that seeks to enslave us.
