afflictions

i'm told that i'm sick,sick in the head
but i'm simply freeing myself from dread
i'm not  insane, its how i've learned to cope
this gruesome ritual brings me hope

it eases my mind and frees my soul
but quitting someday is still my goal
this self inflicted pain has become my addiction
because it rids me of some of my afflictions
