Dear Daddy
I can't expect to be loved by a man,
When my own daddy did not even love me.
When I needed you, you left,
The scars may fade but the hurt never will.
A part of my heart is missing,
And it's one only a daddy can fill.
Your thought may never wander to me,
But mine are always on you,
You should know your departure in my life,
Influences almost everything I do.
If you were here,
There's some things I'd want to say,
"Why don't you love me daddy?
"Why did you go away?"
I joke to mask my hurt,
Because daddy cut me real deep,
His memory hurts so bad,
Some days I just want to leap.
Oh but daddy,
I stay strong every day,
See mummy taught me well,
I can always pretend I'm okay.
When my own daddy did not even love me.
When I needed you, you left,
The scars may fade but the hurt never will.
A part of my heart is missing,
And it's one only a daddy can fill.
Your thought may never wander to me,
But mine are always on you,
You should know your departure in my life,
Influences almost everything I do.
If you were here,
There's some things I'd want to say,
"Why don't you love me daddy?
"Why did you go away?"
I joke to mask my hurt,
Because daddy cut me real deep,
His memory hurts so bad,
Some days I just want to leap.
Oh but daddy,
I stay strong every day,
See mummy taught me well,
I can always pretend I'm okay.
