Afghanistan

As the convoy rolled forth
evil eyes upon us gazed
and decided it was our time
the Humvee in front of mine was gone
in the blink of an eye, smoke and fire
engulfed them, as I
stood by helplessly and watched, an
innocent man, my best friend die.
I have nothing left to say
silence fills my mind
so goodbye, and thank a soldier/service
member today...
