These Walls
Oh, these walls,
Inside them friendship has been found,
But I speak of them with not a sound.
Inside these walls great solace lies,
That eases pain and hears my cries.
Confinement, some may think it be,
But these walls feel like home to me.
Many pages I have come to fill,
Behind these walls, my own life's shield.
They comfort me in darkened time.
Inside these walls a love I find.
I stare at them with lonely eyes,
And feel as time passes me by.
Oh, these walls,
I fear they've made a fool of me,
For when they hold me I just think.
And so I live inside a dream,
Where I can control everything.
And when outside these walls, in deed,
I'm but a ship lost out at sea.
But these walls are loyal friend,
They hold me when I just cant mend.
They give me sanity and peace,
Inside these walls I find release.
They keep the world around away,
And listen to me night and day.
Oh, these walls,
I wish their love I could bestow,
But only the lonely could ever know.
These walls offer a great escape:
From loneliness and my hearts ache;
From everything that gets me down;
From all the bullshit in this town;
From all those fakes with foolish lies;
From all the "friends" with lying eyes.
These walls are cold but feel so warm,
These walls wont ever do me harm.
They simply stand and let me be,
And hide me 'way from everything.
Oh, these walls,
I feel so crazy, but these walls
They make a care so very small.
And when I'm sad I've but to fall,
Unto the ground and cry
"Oh, Walls."
