Following the corpses trail
Mourning tightens his deathgrip upon
a coffee cup, eyes jaded dreary.
Calendars sprawl across the table,
pages splayed in nonchalance;
whilst notes struggle with
overpopulation in their
creased paper kingdoms.
Sunrise was traumatized unmovable as
centuries sank into waiting oceans.
Death resigning to his own doorstep,
channeling power into the unassuming;
demise upon their fingertips.
As always, Mourning follows
the corpses trail.
Exhaling, the breath infects
relations crestfallen.
"Run" they urged, with inhuman
vastness caving in on their voices;
the truth reflecting in their desperation.
So I did.

Scribbler - This wonderful write took me somewhere else. Moved me Bigtime!! Powerfully inked - filled with emotion! It almost felt like a 'crime' that I couldn't add it to my reading list. You know the usual horrible little 'note thingy'.
All of the lines are brilliant. The opening line, in particular, gripped (pun not intended) me:
"Mourning tightens his deathgrip upon
a coffee cup"
What a truly amazing image as with other images. My kind of poem. Adore the write! Thank you for sharing! :)

Dont be scared, scribbler, such a great mind as yours will find something else to write about.
Sometimes when I cant find a thing to write on, I just start to describe things I have seen or read...
There are many ways to heaven!!!

WOW! You've awed me with this write!
"Sunrise was traumatized unmovable as
centuries sank into waiting oceans.
Death resigning to his own doorstep,
channeling power into the unassuming;
demise upon their fingertips." <--that stanza gave me chills! So powerful!
Incredible Pen! xoxo

"whilst notes struggle with
overpopulation in their
creased paper kingdoms."
"Sunrise was traumatized unmovable as
centuries sank into waiting oceans"
-great lines!
I liked how you ended it, having the speaker stop, yet continue to run.
Very nice work.
