HONESTY BEGGED AN ANSWER

HONESTY begged -- an answer
From me it asked impossibility

Forgetting my place within time
I spoke the truth -- almost benign

Thunder split the world within
First a crack then a fissure

Old souls cried a sorrowful song
And blood drenched the lids of eyes

Knowing truth as some may say
Is keener than a sharpened blade

Sometimes best to hear -- a wind
Than feel the storm of emotional pain
