Freewill

If I can find a way
To wash away
Those unspoken
Words that were
Implied and never said
If I can only believe
To trust the good in
People and forget
All that happened
Only just yesterday
If I can close my eyes
And forget
The ugly truth
That I see everyday
And walk away
If I can only pretend
That I exist
In the world
That kindness has
A price to pay
And If I can trust
That in time
The truth will
Be revealed and
No one can escape
Maybe then
I can be free
But to know that
Freedom has
A hefty price to pay….
