RALPH (pronounced 'RAFE')
I always feel secure and safe
In arms of my beloved Ralph.
A man of upright Christian faith,
Who calls small-breasted me “my waif”,
Whose hands, worked at the plane and lathe,
Stir up my skin but do not chafe.
In arms of my beloved Ralph.
A man of upright Christian faith,
Who calls small-breasted me “my waif”,
Whose hands, worked at the plane and lathe,
Stir up my skin but do not chafe.

This was another 'overnight' creation, finding rhyming words for the name. If I think of more, I may expand it. I think I have created an intimate picture of what I would call a Mary-Joseph marriage. Joseph of the Christmas story would have been a man with work worn hands and Mary, in view of her likely age at betrothal, not yet fully developed in shape. At another level, it portrays the kind of marriage I would wish any husband however humble his calling and any wife however modest her physical assets.

Beautiful!
Wondering why it's listed 'Erotic' and not 'Love', especially with your elaboration of what the piece was about?! Just inquiring... xo

Didn't give that choice much thought, but the more physical lines and its bedroom setting stood out in my mind when I submitted it.
