through the dark waters
As I struggle onward
My days are darker
Than a once burning coal
Dowsed with tears
I stagger
The high winds
Of despair
Sinking deeper
Into a lake of regret
Its surface
An impregnable cage
Of leaden pain
As the pain grows stronger
My life grows dimmer
As sadness flows out
Not from my eyes
But from my arms
