To the end, you and I.

The concluding breath melds into memory,
whilst ivory irises ink the
conclusion lethally sharp.
Life takes a holiday someplace vacant,
stuffing my optimism into a suitcase
lined with anti-depressants.

Silence and I formed a blood pact
entwined united till the very end.
He blossoms in the various
mercurial plains of my lungs.
Gallantly tending foxgloves which
reach towards my larynx with grief.

Brothers and sisters branch
their family trees in
opposite directions to my
inspirited tilt of lips.
My own gave me a grave
stone for my birthday,
I set it teary for
safe keeping.

Hand in hand we float
into the sunset,
my transparent fingers
held remorseful in his.
