I Love You Deeply But Show it Cheaply
I love you deeply but show it cheaply,
My love's beyond the common sort,
It can't be measured by what I've bought,
You won't see me spend large amounts,
Because it is the thought that counts.
And so I have no ring for you,
There is no ring that I could bring,
To represent the full extent,
Of the feelings I have for you.
No mine of gold could ever hold,
The richness which your heart contains,
No stone on earth is close to worth,
The beauty which your soul proclaims.
I've looked in shops but nothing tops
The brilliance which your mind attains.
No type of rock they have in stock
Would ever do justice to you.
You are a gem worth more than them,
Why wear a ring upon your finger
When you outshine them all?
My love's beyond the common sort,
It can't be measured by what I've bought,
You won't see me spend large amounts,
Because it is the thought that counts.
And so I have no ring for you,
There is no ring that I could bring,
To represent the full extent,
Of the feelings I have for you.
No mine of gold could ever hold,
The richness which your heart contains,
No stone on earth is close to worth,
The beauty which your soul proclaims.
I've looked in shops but nothing tops
The brilliance which your mind attains.
No type of rock they have in stock
Would ever do justice to you.
You are a gem worth more than them,
Why wear a ring upon your finger
When you outshine them all?
