What I know about love.
Thought I knew about love.
Had it all figured out.
Discounted fate and soul mates
Without any doubt.
Like two forced puzzle pieces
Love could just fit,
What I didn't know was how little
I knew about it.
My sweet sixteen uttered love
Was nothing but an echo
In an empty cave,
To where I would never go.
I'll admit, I'm still young
And I do make mistakes
But if it's this love I have to prove
I'll do whatever it takes.
At nineteen my life should be
Planned just as far
As the next big night out
Or when I can save for a car.
But in my head,
Love makes me giddy
And I fastforward all that;
Past jobs, houses and kiddies...
My love forgets about life,
About what I'll go through,
Because I just can't wait
To grow old with you.
Had it all figured out.
Discounted fate and soul mates
Without any doubt.
Like two forced puzzle pieces
Love could just fit,
What I didn't know was how little
I knew about it.
My sweet sixteen uttered love
Was nothing but an echo
In an empty cave,
To where I would never go.
I'll admit, I'm still young
And I do make mistakes
But if it's this love I have to prove
I'll do whatever it takes.
At nineteen my life should be
Planned just as far
As the next big night out
Or when I can save for a car.
But in my head,
Love makes me giddy
And I fastforward all that;
Past jobs, houses and kiddies...
My love forgets about life,
About what I'll go through,
Because I just can't wait
To grow old with you.
