Curiosity killed the innocence
Lives built-upon-a-daydream
loosen rigid jaws,
as swathes protecting their eyes
are mauled off by Curiosity.
He moves his cat corpses
off to an isolated crook
as a memoir for past victories.
Leaning upwards, extending his arms;
he places the new trophy on the mantle.
A Gentlemen’s skull stares into
and beyond death's realm.
Every second another suicidal
victim falls willing.
Motionless seas of hollow
sockets gazing aimlessly,
teem with concaved regrets.
Will you be next?

A warning against questioning the Faith? How very evangelical...
Forgive the assumptions, that's just my interpretation. :)

A very well written poem, sometimes out of curiousity situations might get into things they did not seem to be...guess the word is...
Dont be too curious....

As that is true, too little curiosity can serve to damage situations when it could've been prevented;

Love the tone created in this piece.
Well done, S.
How is it you always surprise so?
Small observations, if I may.
*And beyond deaths realm
(Apostrophe needed in second last word....?)
*Motionless sea's of hollow
(No apostrophe needed here at all....:-)
Keep pen happy!
Cheers

Damn apostrophes, thank you for pointing them out.
I'll go sort them in a minute.

Not irked, merely irritated at my hate/love affair with the English language :D
Your critique is most appreciated, I do need honest critique in order to get better :)
Not too good at the whole talking in front of people thing, with a lisp and all :(
Penning will almost certainly commence,
sooner or later today.
Thank you kindly for your compliments,
your poetry is a delight to read also.

Whichever way you look at it, you have a level of creativity that's not meant to be kept all hidden.
So glad you're sharing your stuff here...but at some point, time will come to think about .....expanding.....
Poetry group at school, literary chats during interval, poetic reads at assembly, mini-contests.......all of these could be the very encouragement others may need to feel that they, too can pen...lisp or no lisp, you can do it.
You have the power to spearhead any project you set your mind to. Chat with your Language educators....or like-minded individuals to kick-start the thing. Just needs that initial spark....
Think about it. You never know.
Deep within lies a seed of greatness waiting to be germinated.
And you, Scribbler12...... you have what it takes!
Better believe it :-)
Cheers

Thank you, for your belief in my abilities.
I'm going to enter some competitions
-when I find the time- and see what happens.
The future is a mysterious thing.
You've certainly given me some idea's to get started with, and i'll probably use some of them :)
I'd better get germinating then;
though i'll have to find the seed first :)
Heeding wise words,
Scribbler.

The imagery in this piece has driven out of me all curiosity :) Well done...I'm loving the second stanza.

Touching observation. Knowledge does displace innocence and while it can be sobering, the wonder of learning about the world we get to explore as well as our own minds and souls is a fair trade.
I am perusing your pieces and enjoying your word play!
