Je suis 'a comedian'
Having thought myself a rather likable lad,
I now find myself feeling I'm truly quite bad,
once self-perceived as a welcome clown,
the Jester to a mass of misery called 'Town'
but alas, more a cracking smile beneath heaving frown,
a smoking six-gun beyond a stolen crown.
Now speaking from stages and feeding on cheer,
a vampire feeding on xenophobic fear
a monster now facing a blind judge and spear,
a whisper in the ear of the morally unclear.
I will tell you my jokes,
that you might laugh and might cry,
and bring you to see the truth behind the lie.
No longer the shepherd,
nor member of flock,
so are you sitting comfortably?
Knock, Knock.
