One in a billion - a day in the life

One in a billion, a face in the crowd
The person who smiles and fools around
Rushing from one place to another
She works hard
And she seems to have it all
The life the soul
At work she shines
She glitters and speaks happy words

But then she leaves it all behind
And she’s alone
The smile disappears
As a sigh breaks free
The uniform is removed as straight into her lonely bed she slides
The thoughts run through her
All the things she could have done
The things she did wrong
She doesn’t belong

She rolls onto her side
As the tears threaten to flow
Too much thought
She pulls her pillow closer now
As the darkness begins to crowd
She reaches into her mind
And climbs into another
And suddenly he’s there holding her
Chasing away the grey
He’ll always love her come what may

As a new day comes she clings to him
And as the alarm begins to toll she knows she must leave him
Its another day and shes just one in a billion
A face in the crowd
She works hard
She seems to have it all
At work she shines and wishes he was with her now.
