The Hounds
From dark foreboding mountains high
Comes drifting slowly blackened sky
Fading out this autumn light
Now turning daylight into night.
This wretched cloud upon me falls
Again to walk in empty halls
Who's walls do scream, each stone it wails
As blackboard dragged with sharpened nails.
These windows shed no light for thee
Thy clouded mind alone can see
Unseen hands that guide me here
As step by step I face my fear.
A quickened beating heart that pounds
Unleashed I feel let lose the hounds
Then kneeling, waiting, holding breath
I bow my head and wait for death.
Comes drifting slowly blackened sky
Fading out this autumn light
Now turning daylight into night.
This wretched cloud upon me falls
Again to walk in empty halls
Who's walls do scream, each stone it wails
As blackboard dragged with sharpened nails.
These windows shed no light for thee
Thy clouded mind alone can see
Unseen hands that guide me here
As step by step I face my fear.
A quickened beating heart that pounds
Unleashed I feel let lose the hounds
Then kneeling, waiting, holding breath
I bow my head and wait for death.
