The Creaking Of The Beam.
One simple step
Then stand alone
Stillness draws in the silence
Remain motionless upon this throne
Slowly blinking eyes see familiar objects
In this familiar room
Then floating through the gloom
Reaching, clasping, holding fast
The reckoning moment soonest past
This deathly halo above my head
Of woven twisted swinging thread
Tightly pulled then falling, flying
Freely forward, air beneath
Sound exploding in my ears
Pounding pulses through my brain
Darkness follows, no sounds remain
Save the creaking of the beam.
Then stand alone

Remain motionless upon this throne
Slowly blinking eyes see familiar objects
In this familiar room
Then floating through the gloom
Reaching, clasping, holding fast
The reckoning moment soonest past
This deathly halo above my head
Of woven twisted swinging thread
Tightly pulled then falling, flying
Freely forward, air beneath

Pounding pulses through my brain
Darkness follows, no sounds remain
Save the creaking of the beam.
