Spiritual Anthropology

To touch base
with another human being
on the ethereal level,
beyond the limitations
of our skin,
is to interact vibrationally.

What if we can no longer love?  
What if there is no human touching?  
This is where our inner beings take over.....

Holding hands
across the universe,
we observe
a simple evening star
from where we sit,
seemingly alone,
and yet our minds
and hearts kissing
until our bodies fall
into a weak kneed understanding...

This is the way
it goes, Old Girl,
we say to our bodies….
this is the lowering
of the blinds....
and coiling
as snakes in a basket,
we cuddle
in our knowing
that this knot
we've made
will make a fine necklace
for an artist of bones.
