Ode to Death
Unappreciated
Forever more.
Unloved,
And yet so kind.
To remove us
From this pain
And send us where?
Nobody knows
But that is the great speculation.
You are greeted as an old friend
When you take an elderly man,
Scorned as a villain
When youth falls to you.
But would they prefer
The little girl live forever
Cancer paining her
Ever more?
They scorn you
For taking her away from pain
When they pray for an end to her suffering.
The hypocrites hate you
Because you cannot be conquered.
Because they are unclear
In their prayers.
So their God sends you
To end her suffering
And they curse you.
They call you unkind
Unjust
And evil.
When you bring them an end
To the pain.
A conclusion
A goodness to life.
You, who are most precious,
Most kind
And they condemn you to hell.
Forever more.
Unloved,
And yet so kind.
To remove us
From this pain
And send us where?
Nobody knows
But that is the great speculation.
