Sit and Wait
Once you learn to love someone
You never can quite forget.
The way they feel in your hands
The marks they leave on your heart
Silent words are passed between
By way of looks and breathing
Everything I understood
It’s hard to know that it’s gone
So I sit and wait
I just sit and wait.
Why do I sit and wait?
No ones coming home.
Memories that haunt your nights
And lengthen all of your days.
Pictures strewn on the table
Smiles that have long since left.
No letter left at my door
No goodbye no parting words.
I can’t seem to accept
The truth that you could have left.
So I sit and wait
I just sit and wait.
Why do I sit and wait?
No ones coming home.
A record left on repeat
A song that used to be ours.
I lose myself in the words
And pass countless hours.
And I sit and wait
I just sit and wait.
Why do I sit and wait?
No ones coming home.
Once you learn to love someone
You never can quite forget.
You never can quite forget.
The way they feel in your hands
The marks they leave on your heart
Silent words are passed between
