Prairie Play
They twirled and whipped
Gliding together,
Brushing caress
They're colors of gold,
Shimmering
All beneath the blessed
For a moment each rose
Their dance momentarily stopped
The silence but a moment
As the breath was caught
Then once more they bent
Fluttered and swayed
A laughter of whispers
A witness that prayed
Swept along,
Rolling together,
The individual shaded
A vast hill top,
Blended
That the wind guided and baited
The song continued,
A rhythmic performance
That twisted the stocks
With fingers enormous
Then slowly they parted
The grass and the wind
Talk of all nature
Beginning to rescind
With one final jump
The prairie all swayed
A carpet of gold
A prairie wind play
Gliding together,
Brushing caress
They're colors of gold,
Shimmering
All beneath the blessed
For a moment each rose
Their dance momentarily stopped
The silence but a moment
As the breath was caught
Then once more they bent
Fluttered and swayed
A laughter of whispers
A witness that prayed
Swept along,
Rolling together,
The individual shaded
A vast hill top,
Blended
That the wind guided and baited
The song continued,
A rhythmic performance
That twisted the stocks
With fingers enormous
Then slowly they parted
The grass and the wind
Talk of all nature
Beginning to rescind
With one final jump
The prairie all swayed
A carpet of gold
A prairie wind play
