Grail Mother
- Grail Mother -
She went forth, leaving behind her: twelve scheming apostles.
To Britannia, so far from the prying eyes of Rome, she went…
Bringing with her a secret for which men would sell their souls!
It was hardly any secret to her, simply a truth to be given vent.
Joseph of Arimathea would aid her, keeping the symbol hidden,
Whilst what that symbol, that cup represented, would be safe.
Safe from Rome, safe from the prying eyes of all the holy men!
The priestesses of Avalon were her disciples, beheld her face…
And helped her to hide that which could not be revealed to all,
For the new religion being formed by Peter did not understand.
He wanted no woman to challenge him, lest his ambitions fall…
And so did the Magdalena find her true calling in a distant land.
Men would seek her secret for all of time, only the few finding,
Whence went the Holy Grail, the secret that had not any name!
As knights and priestesses stood guard with oaths so binding…
That no scandalous secret: could cause Christianity any shame.
Peter’s religion would change Rome, and the course of history,
But the Magdalena’s secret would be passed unto the chosen…
Neither scandalous nor terrible: but beautiful in its’ fair mystery!
Of all Arthur’s knights only Galahad beheld her truth unhidden.
