ENTANGLEMENT
(Inspired by R_bby22's poem "Tangled Up In You" and its accompanying picture.)
I don’t mind this entanglement;
We’re to each other Heaven sent,
Each other’s strengths we complement.
This is the way that we were meant
To be – that is my sentiment.
Clothes pulled off hard they sometimes rent,
Releasing our shared lust up-pent,
Realising carnal intent
In heat of our enamourment,
Within a bedroom or a tent.
We live for, and live, the moment –
Next day we won’t ask where night went,
That night, our divine appointment.
Forgetting past disappointment,
And times that made us penitent,
Our love we joyfully cement.
We part, sex-fulfilled and content,
All passion (and some semen) spent.
