"Watch This Space"

A watch isn't just for Christmas
its for life
it slips on my wrist
as if its lived there since birth
shiny silver,
metal strap
expensive
not cheap
second hand crap.

It exists in between seconds
in between the hands
of the tick tick tock tocking
rhythm of a wind up clock.
the slight humming
of the mechanical scat
is my companion
familiar like my own heartbeat
it operates on a plexus
of simplicity.
A delicate instrument in the
hands of a good man.

A watch isn't just for leisure
its time that i measure
a instrument of total precision
used for any mission
a officially certified chronometer.
Horology has long been a
study of mine.

This watch means so much
passed from generation
to generation
broken and fixed
through regeneration
and the great depression
a symbol of mankind's
greatest achievements

Forged in a fiery furnace
of a burning nebula
this watch weighed down
with cosmic density
of a white star.
infinity is now mine to master
times moves slowly
and then faster
depending on my perception.

And one day son this watch
will be yours
"when dad?"
asked the son
"watch this space son"
i replied
"watch this space"!
