Life Is Something Like Me
Hello, do you know me ?
I am the first time you fell from your bike & scraped your knee.
Or that heart with intials you carved in a tree.
I am the dirt underneath your nails.
Those old used things at a garage sale.
I am the way your hands feel when you've done dishes for an hour.
Or the way you smell after you've gone without a shower.
I am the heartache that comes from a lost love.
And your undying faith in an unknown God above.
I am the pain inside you when a person close to you dies.
And the betrayal you feel when your lover lies.
I am your car when something is wrong.
And the will inside that makes you strong.
I am the mud in which your shoe gets stuck.
I am your amazingly fortunate & your shitty, miserable luck.
I am all you have done, everything you are, everywhere you've been & all you can give.
I am what's real in life & if you don't know me, you haven't really lived.
