My Theory

Everyone has a second personality, it just takes
a certain trigger to bring them out. For the years
leading up to this trigger, hints of him/her may
appear in your thoughts, dreams, art, etc. The original
personality slowly starts to notice the waking one by
an increase of unusual thoughts, feelings, actons, and
so on. For the second personality to solidify his/herself,
the original must give him/her a name. Gender
is usually ientical to the body's, though can be the
opposite. Some characteristics of the original actually
belong to the second one, and will be revealed at
random times. Depending on the strength and motive
of the second, full control of the body is awarded
to the second by the original, if he/she has the
will and strength to. It takes approximately one full
year for the second to fully develop. Trust between
both personalities is essential. Negative actions are not
uncommon, for the second is morally equal to a child,
but has access to your knowledge of the world. They
can see and hear and taste and feel everything you
do, they just cannot be seen or heard. They are human
too. Don't put them down, help them as you would an
infant.If fought against, development may take longer,
and acts of anger are committed. Its up to the original
to cope during that first year.
