A Picnic
screaming seagulls
swarming skyward
sailing strongly
staring sternly
spying starfish
sliding slowly
stomachs sensing
survival sustenance
streaming southward
snatching skillfully
sandy seashore
steady swells...
... a great day for a picnic.

Thank you very much. I live close to the ocean, so this is a scene I see quite often. I hope it brought back pleasant memories.

Never fails to amaze me how someone can write an entire piece using a single letter throughout (and it *works*!). Last line's impact is greater for the breaking out. This one is lovely (and sounds sooo inviting!).

You know, I've always heard of alliteration, but never knew what it was until now when you mentioned it here. So it is kinda funny how this was just meant to be a challenge to myself to try to start every word with "s" and have it make sense at the same time. Thank you very much for reading and for illuminating me.

Yeah, great alliteration, you nailed it!
Now you know that just cuz you didn't know the fancy word for it, didn't mean you couldn't DO it.
What other stuff ya got in your bag of tricks?

Thank you very much. I'm glad I was able to pull it off, even though I didn't know what it was. ha ha. I guess we will all have to wait and see what comes out of the hat next.

Stunning piece, wittily describing all the words beginning with the letter S....connecting so cleverly a great read.
Sooo.....is there an 'S' on your chest for Superman??!? :-)
