Abstract Egomania
pill bottle in her pocket
joint in her mouth
she walks slowly down a busy street
looking for friends
where are they
not here
nor there
nonexistent people
did they ever exist
or figments of imagination
someones imagination
clearly not hers
trees sway
no wind is blowing
she is lost in thought
never noticing
never seeing
the ever present elephant in the middle of the street
she breezes bye it
no glimpse not even from the corner of her eye
deep inside herself
she sees nothing
she is consumed with herself
impulses lead the way
perusing self interest only
everything she does is in vain
obsessed with her reflection
obsessed with her own thoughts
looking for nonexistent friends
in her shallow world
conceited and selfish
she feels there must be others
others like her,
lost inside themselves
self absorbed
and arrogant
egoism
seeking attention
recognition
for simply being her
egomania
is her disease
no cure for what she has
its not in her to be selfless
