Welcome to my mind.
Welcome to my mind, are you able to swim?
Steel emotions float in liquid form,
impulsively spraying screaming
sparks at softly spoken words.
If you dive deep enough you
regrettably encounter coloured
glass of liable vulnerability.
Dyed with blood spilled across
many dejected life spans.
It often falls too hard into
the hope beneath it,
inevitably shattering.
A salty liquid soaks into
the space automatically,
drenching shards in disappointment.
It takes self belief
to build it up again,
we're in a recession:
it doesn't come cheap.
The consequences are dire.
If you dwell in the flood for too long
you simply cease to exist.
The waves consume your entire being,
replacing oxygen with destructive sensations.
Eyes dance as they droop,
wheezing lungs inhale delight;
and exhale sighs of the crestfallen.
Me and the voices talk late into the night,
I gaze at them from shaded corners.
In occasional silences
They stare right back at me.
