The Note Of A Thousand Tears
I write this in the midnight light of the moon
In front of my only true friend
The one who listens
Yet is miles high, in the sapphire blue sky
The only one who understands enough to stay with me
I write the note of a thousand tears
To come and go, forgotten and thrown
The ink a color of my dying heart
The only remorse of my life
Yet my only escape to the place I am to be
I look up, to the glistening shimmer of thy moon
It holds me close, awaiting my visit to come
High and high, I will go, farther to my only friend
But first comes the note of a thousand tears
I must finish, give the goodbyes of that I haven't the strength to say in person
This world is not my place to stay, a fight I held on till now
They will all see who I really am
Though I wish dearly it wasn't this way, I have no more strength to go on
I give my apologizes, and keep writing, the words slide off the pen, ever so gently
As I look up to the only one who knows me, I smile and say "It won't be much longer"
I take in the landscape, glowing by my best friends beautiful light
It shines down, over the land that never ends
I look up, to see it shines down on me too, inviting me, pulling me, giving me strength
The only reason I was here this long
Was for the light it releases, the light holds me close
It shimmers on my paper, lighting up the words I have written down
Telling me that it cares, and awaits my arrival
Patiently, I sit there and look up and wait for the time to come
I look back down, for I must finish the note of a thousand tears
I put the pen to the paper, writing more of what they should know
Pain and emotion of wronging fill my heart and soul
The longing of being with it and the shimmering light, over whelms my body
I write faster, becoming inpatient, I look back up
It calms me down, and wills me to wait, only a little while longer
I write down slower, as my eyes begin to water, for the longing I hold, and have kept in
I write the words, the only ones left for me to say, all I can give away
I whisper to my friend, the one in the sky, that soon I'll be there
No one left to see me, for I'm good as dead, six feet under I soon shall lay
I sing my lullaby, for me and my only friend
I wait patiently, for the longing to go, yet I stay a while longer
Laying on the ground, looking up with shimmer over lapping my body
I gaze around and say, I may miss this spot, but will soon see it as my friend does
I sit up, and look at the paper, glimmering in the shimmer of the moon
I realize there is little left to say, and I write it down slowly
There's no going back, for my mind is made, nothing left to stop me, only to push me further
Nothing left but the softest grass to lay on
I look up to the sapphire blue midnight sky, of where my friend lies and waits
I take a few breaths, and leave it there
For it's time I leave, to be with my one and only friend, forever and always
For I have finished, the note of a thousand tears
In front of my only true friend
The one who listens
Yet is miles high, in the sapphire blue sky
The only one who understands enough to stay with me
I write the note of a thousand tears
To come and go, forgotten and thrown
