Ester Cobb

Ester Cobb was never a snob -
Even when she lived with that rich guy Bob.
That was a time she had all and more
And her pocketbook opened many a door -
But boy, Bob could snore and snore some more.
And while he slumbered poor Ester tumbled
Down into madness.
The shadows in the dark frightened her a lot,
So she slept in the Benz more times than not..
To hide from the shadows that plagued her peripheral
And swam in the milk she poured on her cereal.
The Benz and the man and the pocketbook tan
Are long in her past and so far away -
She asked for a ride from me one cloudy day.
What could I say.....except "Which way"?
