Goodbye
It was a lot harder to bare than I
Could have possibly imagined.
The pain, that sheer agony, of
Having your heart ripped
Right out of your chest
Then thrown to the floor.
There is no medicine
Strong enough to heal this hurt
Only him
Only him because
He is the only one
Who knows who I even am.
Every now and then,
I remember when
My heart was tossed to the floor
And left there to die...
And now, I can look back
At that moment and not cry.
I can look back, not a tear
In my eye. He said his goodbye
And now, so can I.
You see, since then,
I got older, and I got stronger.
That only comes with time, you know.
But, when it comes,
You're never the same again.
You will get hurt, but you will
Know that one day
It will all go away.
It will all be a part of yesterday
And you will live through today
Because scars heal, then
Make you tougher. They let you see
That you can survive through the
Pain and you can
Walk away. One day.
That day may not be today
But one day... someday...
Then, that pain of yesterday
Won't matter anymore.
Because, you're living right now.
Could have possibly imagined.
The pain, that sheer agony, of
Having your heart ripped
Right out of your chest
Then thrown to the floor.
There is no medicine
Strong enough to heal this hurt
Only him
Only him because
He is the only one
Who knows who I even am.
Every now and then,
I remember when
My heart was tossed to the floor
And left there to die...
And now, I can look back
At that moment and not cry.
