June 31st, Waking up...

Last night was perfect
No promises were broken
And my heart kept intact
Despite the fact
We were together
But, we weren't together
But he was with me
Beside me
Near me and everything
Was perfect in every way
It was complete
There was no sadness
In his goodbye

As he looked in my eyes
And told me goodnight
It was a perfect two hours
And I have no regrets
And I won't ever forget
His smile that lit up the dark room
And his eyes that saw into
My heart and even though
I barely understood
A word he spoke because
He whispered so softly
He looked into my eyes
And it was perfect
And for the first time
In my life I felt
Complete because he
Was with me
And we were together
But, we weren't together
And that was okay with me
He still told me everything
All his secrets and all his lies
And then, he told me goodbye
And it was
Perfect
Oh, how it truly was

But then, he told me
He had started cutting himself again
He showed me the scars
And that opened up
My heart and I knew
I couldn't leave him
And I knew
I had to leave him
There was no sadness
In his goodbye
Or in his brown eyes
But still, I cried.
I wanted to make him feel
Just as perfect
As I had felt
And I knew then
I'd always love him
And always want to be together
Even if we were not
Together and it hurts
Like Hell.
But I am willing to suffer
Any pain
Just to have a taste
Of what I've lost and know
That I'll never get it back...
Still, it was... perfect,
I suppose, in every way.
It was worth the pain.
I wouldn't ever give the memory
Of that night away
Because it was perfect in
