Happy Samhain!
The year is finally coming to a close,
I reminisce, as I stop strumming upon my guitar.
I gaze at the sunset from my hill-top perch,
I listen as the crickets start to sing.
Then I remember a song I've heard before,
"Cartouche" by Blackmore's Night,
And play it softly, tasting each lyric,
As if I were never to sing it again.
I place my candle infront of me,
And finally manage to light it.
Staring at the flame dancing against the breeze,
My thoughts wander around.
/I can't believe it's finally here!
I can't believe it's finally Samhain!/
Here I place an offering,
To those who've passed away.
You I am honoring,
And I ask you for tonight to stay.
May your Samhain be blessed,
With the laughter of children,
The smiles of strangers,
And the whispers of loved ones passed.
Thrice blessed may you be,
In this year to come.
