You asked..

You asked me what I thought.
What I thought the first time I saw you.

With a smile, I replied.
Do you remember what I said?

I said, "I was happy."
"That you looked, talked, acted, and smelled like a man I once knew."

Puzzled?

As a child I named him Gideon.
He never told me his real name.

And though his appearance has changed as he has aged.
He is still the boy that saves me from my nightmares.

He is clean shaven, with brown hair that is always tied back.
His dark brown eyes always carry a pleasant smirk.

You see Gideon doesn't look like he belongs in this time period.
Between the vests and dress shirts he wears, and the way he carries himself.

Gideon looks more like a twentieth century scholar than a little girls twenty-first century hero.

Gideon has spent his existence saving me from the monsters that lurk at night.
When the creatures of my dreams grew too evil Gideon would always fight back the darkness without fail.

So when you asked what I thought when we first met..
I should have said I knew you were the man of my dreams.
