in plain view

how could you do this to
your children
you were children once too

I like the scarlet letter reference, and the final line "but we always do". That was such a perfect ending. As I read this I envisaged a Hitler Youth troupe marching through the streets beneath some crucifix banner. A wonderfully angry and incisive middle finger to religion.

haha yeah I love putting a middle finger up to religion.. having been a christian I hold so much animosity towards religion because I feel duped and stupid for ever having believed in that shit.. but when its shoved down your throat as a child (like watching your parents smoke) you think they should know better.. but my dad's completely lost.. I cant wait till he dies and realizes all these years he was wrong.. thanks about the comment about the ending.. laura mentioned something about I always seem to end my poems well.. I always try to throw in a good kicker to end my poems.. and apparently I do a pretty good job on the climax.. I just understand where it should go.. how it should end.. anyway thank you bud.. ill keep writing if you keep reading :D

I would be lying if I said this poem does not make me sad in the deepest part of my being; that I mourn in my soul, that all my happiness turns to sorrow when I read this.
I am not offended in the least, but rather I am sick with agony in my spirit. Sick with sadness, wracked with grief.
Yet still; there it is . . . my hope remains though sad, it still remains.

the burden only gets worse the more i see the more i wished id seen less.
