BLUE EYES AND A SMILE

Inspired by nude head and shoulders picture, accompanying erotic poem in Deep Underground Poetry, of the woman author, with fetching smile and blue eyes.  It drew to mind a number of women friends I have had memorable heart to heart conversations with, also blue-eyed themselves.

"Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon.." - Song of Songs, Chapter 7, verse 4.

I guess I’m one of those easy-pleased guys,
Who warm to a smile and pair of blue eyes.
They keep my gaze fixed into a fair face,
Before looking at any other place.
If she asked for cash, they’d open my purse.
As we both heart to heartedly converse,
They are sunlit pools that bid one come in
And cool down if hot, or, if cold, warm skin.
It matters not what we may (or not) wear,
My attention and senses linger there.
Truthfully, gently, I share long held thought
On things we talk about, and draw support.
We part, with me feeling ministered to;
I won’t quickly forget these eyes of blue!
