I watched a documentary about the same thing some time back, it was fascinating.

Do you know why Witches are made to look green and have crooked noses and hands.  Because way back in time when woman were charged with witchcraft, they were beaten and tortured so badly, their bruises would be a greenish colour, their nails would be damage and fingers and noses broken.

So many things have been attributed to Disney and Hollywood animator,s but the truth is more scarier than fiction. The zombi is very real all be it no the way it is portrayed.

This is very well done.
Ethnobiologists have traced the "making" of Zombies to the use of poisonous botanicals.
This was originally done by a Harvard Ethnobotanist and published.  There is also evidence that it could be small amount of puffer fish poison.  I like the way you have taken the information and linked it to Tyrants in the Carabbean.

I have read several studies on the subject and seen a few documentaries, yet this was not quoted from those studies. This is from my own knowledge, based on eye witness accounts and stories passed down by elders. But one thing is true in both, the poison the bokor use does come from the blowfish along with other botanicals; although each bokor has his or her own recipe. Vodoun is one of the Caribbeans oldest religions and its been practiced by my people for centuries, somethings you don't forget.
