Starvation Once Again
The scorching heat from the Sudanese sky’s like a thought erased from your mind
Another child dies
Inspired by gross misfortune
The shadow of death follows as the skeletons walk
Death is in charge here.
Generous people of the world donate the TV news records the plight
The countries rulers smile & wait
The governing bodies live off the fat
Armed to the teeth
Rich pickings from the western world.
The starving sit quietly & wait & hope with no energy to swat the flies that annoy
They wait & starve
Staring ahead no one speaks
Waiting for aid, but not today, not at all
There is no aid.
The selfish sky will cry no rain the only drops from hungry children’s tears
A cry of pain
The sun beats down to parch the land
The thirsty crops refuse to grow
God won’t give a helping hand.
Wasted food throughout the world wasted lives
Falling like an autumn leaf
Tiny lives ebb away
Another headstone names are carved
Spare a thought for those who starve.
