For all the Lonely Lovers

Inspired by Bobby Womack’s
“If you think you’re lonely know”

Holding myself against the cold
why, why does it have to be this way,
we all have a right to love and be loved
but cross that line, and there is the devil to pay!

I am so lonely now
and it’s the same day after day,
nothing to look forward to,
except a cold empty bed, always!

Why!!! Does it have to be this way!
Can you answer me that?
What did I do sooo terrible
that this fate is the one I must face?

I have fierce passion and a
strong beating heart, is that not enough?
My body screams in riotous desire
yet there is no one to put out this fire.

Give me wars and give me death!
But do not condemn
me to this misery
as if I had an unpaid debt!

The wind blows cold through my heart,
and soon the life fire that gives its spark
will extinguish itself for lack of love,
then what will be left will be a pitiful hull.

One more night, this night,
this night,tearing me asunder
I must fight and not surrender
but the tears show otherwise,
I am not that clever.

Ohh baby, I am so lonely now;
so I will put this pen down
to wipe my face,
let my tears become the ink
that stains this page.
