The Mirror
Shattered
He's a million slices from whole
Cracks of flesh
Torn by the image
Seen between the eyelids of mine
His mutilated soul
Devour demons of a childhood night
An absent mothers care
For a pair
A set born together
Mentally conjoined
Asking "were we not a sight?"
Were we not beautiful enough for you to stay?
Questions he may hide from asking today
His minds a runaway
Adopted by an abandoned love
Some false zeal
Covered in lust
Surrounded by fidelity because the term mother was so unreal
He can't muster enough words to describe his father
Can't find any so why should he bother
Failed by the ones he cherished
As a man that past shall perish
Because now that image he sees comes through the eyes of his flourished seeds
Knowing his father who shed his blood for him so that he wouldn't have to worry about those earthly needs
Allowing him the ability to stand and apologize to the women and their broken hearts
And the ability to look at his mother and know his heart wont tear apart
It is now that I find myself in him his reflection
No longer broken simply fixed from the rejection
I hold him together taking time to console
The pieces we found shattered knowing that together we're whole
I can see him inside me now that my eyes are clearer
I acknowledge that we are one inside the mirror
