Blue Eye
I have known her so long neither of us can even remember meeting.
I have seen her elated, and I have seen her cry more times than I care to count.
I have seen her at her best and at her absolute worst.
I have always been there for her, her shoulder to cry on, her secret confidant,
the one she shared her bed with, her best friend.
I have never let her down.
I know more about her than anyone else could ever hope to discover.
But now she has a boyfriend.
Now he is the one she tells her day to, he is the one she shares her thoughts with.
When she is happy they laugh together and when she is sad he is the one she turns to for comfort.
Now he is the one she holds close to herself, the one who shares her bed.
Occasionally, when she knows he wont be home, we'll spend the night together.
I often feel I should refuse, but I can't.
And she'll fall asleep with her arms around me and it'll feel like nothing has changed.
Unless I look in her eyes, then sometimes I'll see her missing him
I know that she loves me
but he is the one
she has chosen to spend her life with.
