Taking Over ©
Looking back. You're looking back on me.
Keep your silence, even in the night.
Flawless, under scrutiny and light.
Clawing and scratching your way to the center of them . .
while you're
looking down, you're looking down on me!
I keep denying, do not wish to see . .
that you're looking back,
Don't assume affection comes for free.
You're second-guessing, slowly killing me
Breaking and bruising my very deepest dreams.
yet you're
taking over, taking over me.
Slowly inspiring
inevitable mutiny.
Keep your silence, even in the night.
Flawless, under scrutiny and light.
Clawing and scratching your way to the center of them . .
while you're
looking down, you're looking down on me!
I keep denying, do not wish to see . .
that you're looking back,
Don't assume affection comes for free.
You're second-guessing, slowly killing me
Breaking and bruising my very deepest dreams.
yet you're
taking over, taking over me.
Slowly inspiring
inevitable mutiny.
