epitaph in salt water
the breeze blows there off the sea
and I know one day I will be there
as there are others already there
blowing in the breeze off of the ocean
where they were brought to after they left this world
their whispers there in the wind
their last words
or their last will and testament
in a self composed eulogy
of sound mind and sound body
the wind doesn't forget us
as we are brought to her
in a canister by the monks
as the tide moves in and out
like our breath did
our whispers are not lost
listen closely
you can already hear mine
as that large dose of pills
begins to turn into their lesser form
and course through my veins
and make me terribly drowsy
and make my eyes close
and make my system shut down
and my soul
or whatever it is
begins becoming part of the wind
that's what the breeze is
the breath of the dead
"goodnight princess"
"I just couldn't stand watching you leave"
and I know one day I will be there
as there are others already there
blowing in the breeze off of the ocean
where they were brought to after they left this world
their whispers there in the wind
their last words
or their last will and testament
in a self composed eulogy
of sound mind and sound body
the wind doesn't forget us
as we are brought to her
in a canister by the monks
as the tide moves in and out
like our breath did
our whispers are not lost
listen closely
you can already hear mine
as that large dose of pills
begins to turn into their lesser form
and course through my veins
and make me terribly drowsy
and make my eyes close
and make my system shut down
and my soul
or whatever it is
begins becoming part of the wind
that's what the breeze is
the breath of the dead
"goodnight princess"
"I just couldn't stand watching you leave"
