Rain
The air is chill, thick and expectant
as if the whole world is moving slowly,
enjoying the build up to the inevitable.
All the smells of the earth become heavier
the pungent aroma of grass and pine prevalent.
The feeling of power and energy thrums in your veins
heart pounding as fear and arousal blend
producing a freedom and propelling to new heights of pleasure.
Waiting, breathless, time stops
the second before, taking an eternity.
Finally, as one, the clouds release,
the rain comes, bouncing off upturned faces, blinding in it's perfection.
A laugh rings forth in the premature twilight.
