Bullet
I thought of you today,
And I relived the pain.
The pain that lingers,
In your absence,
Is nearly unbearable.
There isn't a human alive,
Who won't say once that
Their heart has been broken.
Everyone will feel these words;
'I will not love again'.
Even I have, though I feign strength.
But when you were there,
All of the fragile guards
And all that shaky strength,
Fell to your feet.
With no bullet proof vest,
For I had removed it to be held
By arms I once thought were warm,
You loaded your gun.
Aiming for my heart,
You blew it apart,
So I might never love again.
You were in heart breaking pain,
A pain caused by someone else,
And in return you hurt me
Just so you might feel alive.
But I envied her, and still do.
She has something I do not,
And that something is you.
I can pretend I never felt a thing,
I can pretend I'll walk away
Without shedding a tear.
I can keep pretending,
But at the end of the day,
I almost wish you'd shoot me again,
And end my love with your bullet...
And I relived the pain.
